So... What is a heat pump?
What is a heat pump? It's exactly as it sounds--a heat pump is a machine that moves heat from one location to another.
How does it work? As some may remember from physics class, energy naturally moves from hot to cold. To circumvent this natural law and to both heat and cool, the heat pump cycles a refrigerant (from a low pressure liquid, to a high pressure liquid, to a high pressure vapor, to a low pressure vapor and then back to a low pressure liquid) allowing heat to be relocated from inside or outside depending on whether you are heating or cooling. Heat pumps are excellent for the environment and are a great alternative to fossil fuels and electric baseboard heaters. Scagnelli & Son are fully insured and EPA 608 certified.
Please note: Units require electrical hookup by an electrician which is not included in the heat pump installation.
